How the calculation works

Take 29 April 1978. The month, 4, is already a single digit. The day, 29, reduces to 2 + 9 = 11 — a master number, so it stays 11. The year, 1978, reduces to 1 + 9 + 7 + 8 = 25, then 2 + 5 = 7. Add the three: 4 + 11 + 7 = 22. That is a master number too, so the life path is 22, not 4.

Adding every digit of the date in one pass would have given 4 instead. That is the shortcut most calculators take, and it is why answers disagree.

Questions

How is a life path number calculated?

Reduce the birth month, day and year to single digits separately, add those three results together, then reduce once more. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are kept at every step instead of being reduced.

Why do some calculators give me a different number?

Because they add every digit of the date at once. That shortcut loses master numbers hiding in a component — a birthday on the 29th, for example, reduces to 11. Mystize uses the component-wise method, which is the one numerology references print.

What are master numbers 11, 22 and 33?

They are the three totals numerology leaves un-reduced, treating them as intensified versions of 2, 4 and 6. If your total lands on one of them, that is your life path — not the single digit underneath.

Does my life path number ever change?

No. It is derived from your date of birth, so it is fixed for life. Name-based numbers such as the expression number can change; the life path cannot.

Is any of this a prediction?
